Finding Your Song with Ross Malcolm Boyd

“I could never do that.”

I have heard that so many times from so many people when talking about songwriting. I am here to tell you the same thing I have told countless folks: “If you want to write a song, you can write a song.”

In this workshop, I will walk you through some basic steps to get started writing songs. We will discuss lyric writing, composing music on the ukulele, and negotiating with that part of our brains that say we can’t. Along the way, we will write a song together. I hope you’ll use the skills we discuss to write a song on your own and present it at the recital the following week.

The optional recital will be held the following Thursday, April 29th, at the same time as this weeks workshop. You will not only get a chance to perform your new song, but get feedback from the instructor. The cost for the workshop is $30, and the cost for the workshop and recital is $50.
